Bio-Power, Inc. is the successor company to Advanced Recycle Equipment (ARE), a provider of heat-only systems with tens of thousands of hours of successful operation. Bio-Power has acquired the design and intellectual property previously developed and owned by ARE.

We are introducing a new product line aimed at the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) market needs focused on forest residue, various sources of biomass and municipal solid waste (MSW). Our initial offering is a 1MW system utilizing our proven combustor technology paired with a steam turbine built by an established company including Siemens, Eliot and others with existing units in operation for tens of thousand of hours.


Biomass Combustion System Technical/Operational Advantages

  • Extended Burn Chamber (aka Secondary Combustion Zone) This added chamber extends the dwell time of the Combustion Gases up to as much as 1.3 seconds at high temperatures. This aids in the combustion of any unwanted particulate and possibly emitted gases.

  • Complete Automation of the Combustion Processes. All vital components such as three levels of Combustion Air, Fuel Feed, ID Fan, Auto Deash Systems are controlled and regulated by Variable Frequency Controls (VFD’s) which regulate feed rates to control temperatures and meet load demands. This allows for the most efficient cleanest Combustion Process possible while also controlling fuel costs.

  • A very effective and clean Automatic Deash System that requires no ramp down or burn down process adding to the operating hours of the system. Removes the ash from the system automatically and deposits it in self-contained ash bin, which can be easily and safely emptied without disrupting operation.

  • We use Cast Refractory. This makes for a better seal within the firebox and easy repairs and replacement of refractory in the future, after years of operational hours.

  • We have selected the best in-class suppliers for all our components. From our refractory to the Boiler to our Power Generation Units, we team up with U.S. based suppliers who are the best in their specific industry. For components such as the Power Generation Packages, we work with some of the largest companies in the industry, such as Siemens, Dresser Rand and Elliott.

  • We have systems all throughout North America operating in facilities such as Schools, Correctional Facilities, Greenhouses, Wildlife Sanctuaries, Health Care Facilities and all types of Wood Processing Operations.

  • We can combust a wide variety of fuels varying in moisture and ash content, thanks to our Combustion Air Control and our Automatic Deash System.

  • Heat only systems: customized and scalable from 3 million Btu to 30 million Btu per hour gross output.

  • Cost effective disposal and conversion of biomass waste (all types of wood, cardboard, paper, agricultural byproducts, forest residuals and manure up to 50% moisture content).

  • Significant independent, portable and cost effective energy supply for remote, expensive or energy challenged locations, densely populated spaces, natural disaster areas and areas with high cost, environmentally dirty or inefficient energy.
